Young Professionals, Technocrats, Entrepreneurs, Content Creators Mobilise Around Yayi Campaign
A new political support network, Team 20,000 Votes for Yayi 2027, has announced its formal establishment as a platform for young professionals, technocrats, entrepreneurs, content creators and other citizens supporting the governorship ambition of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 Ogun State governorship election.
In a statement signed by the convener, Aroboto Rasheed, the group said its emergence was driven by the desire to create a structured platform through which professionals and citizens outside conventional political circles can participate in the state's political process.
The organisers said the initiative is designed to bring together individuals with diverse professional backgrounds, including technology, business, finance, education, entrepreneurship, creative industries and other sectors, allowing them to contribute their expertise, ideas, networks and civic interests to political engagement.
According to the group, political participation should not be restricted to traditional party structures, stressing that professionals and young citizens can also contribute meaningfully through knowledge-sharing, public discussions, community engagement, digital communication and other forms of civic participation.
20,000-SUPPORTER TARGET
The name Team 20,000 Votes for Yayi 2027, according to the organisers, reflects the network's stated objective of building a membership and support base of 20,000 people around its political project before the 2027 governorship election.
The group said its approach will focus on creating an organised network capable of connecting supporters across different professional and social backgrounds.
It also emphasised that the initiative is intended to provide an entry point into political participation for people who may be engaging in organised political activities for the first time.
The organisers said members would be encouraged to participate in respectful political discussions, information sharing, civic engagement and constructive interaction while maintaining the group's stated support for Senator Adeola.
YAYI'S 2027 CANDIDACY
Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola currently represents Ogun West in the National Assembly and is the APC's governorship candidate for the 2027 Ogun State election. The party reaffirmed his candidacy in August 2026 after controversy surrounding competing claims over the party's nomination.
Earlier in May, Governor Dapo Abiodun formally presented Adeola to Ogun West APC stakeholders as the party's consensus candidate, with the development subsequently followed by the party's governorship primary process.
Adeola's campaign has subsequently established its own organisational structures ahead of the election, including a campaign headquarters in Abeokuta.
Against this background, the emergence of Team 20,000 Votes for Yayi 2027 represents another effort by supporters to develop a distinct mobilisation platform focused particularly on professionals, entrepreneurs and technology-oriented citizens.
DIGITAL AND PROFESSIONAL APPROACH
The organisers described the network as having a professional and technology-oriented identity, with an emphasis on using modern communication channels to connect members and facilitate participation.
Rather than presenting itself solely as a conventional political structure, the group said it intends to provide an avenue for members to contribute through their individual professional experiences, ideas, social networks and areas of expertise.
The initiative is also expected to support discussions around issues relevant to Ogun State and the 2027 electoral process, while encouraging members to engage in political activities in a respectful and constructive manner.

Team 20,000 Votes for Yayi 2027 has consequently commenced membership registration and organisational activities across Ogun State and beyond.
