KARA TRADERS CRY FOR HELP, ALLEGE PLANS TO BURN DOWN MARKET

 


Concerned group of traders in Kara market, in Sabo Area of Sagamu Local Government has called for the urgent intervention of the State Governor, Dapo Abiodun to save them from the planned ejection being put in place by the Local Government Chairman, Ogbeni Jubril Olasile Odulate.


The group in a statement by its Convener, Mrs. Sade Ajenifuja decried that "it was an additional pain on the present economic situations for anyone whosoever to think of rendering them homeless in their respective business base in the multi-ethic market which has been in existence over 200 years ago"


According to her, "we have been doing our legitimate business over the years without committing any crime or criminality nor being a threat to humanity. 


To our dismay, the Chairman, Sagamu Local Government, Ogbeni Jubril Olasile Odulate[Afo] issued a quick notice to every traders to vacate the premises under the guise of wanting to reconstruct".


Ajenifuja, accused Odulate of plans to frame up crime in the name of the market occupants, by burn down the market with the intention of sending them away, and thereafter perfect the crocked plans of transferring the market's ownership to some individuals.


Alleging that Odulate had obtained money from some individuals to transfer the ownership after perfecting his illicit plans, the market women, thereafter appealed to Governor Abiodun to immediately call the Chairman to order, adding that such plans must not be materialized as over 5,000 market women and men will be render hopeless.
