A 70-year-old grandpa, Mr Hunsu Sunday arrest by Ogun state police command for allegedly impregnate his own 15-year-old grand-daughter
The suspect arrest was confirmed by the state spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, DSP on November 10, 2020.
A statement issued by Oyeyemi, said the septuagenarian was arrested following a report lodged by the teenager’s aunty at Ado-Odo Police Division that the girl had been serially abused sexually by her grandfather.
According to him he said that the girl who had been living with her grand father since she after her mother death subsequently feeling funny in her body.
The statement said:
‘’The report made the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Ado-Odo Police Station, SP Michael Arowojeun to send detectives to the scene, where the old man was arrested.
“When interrogated, the suspect confessed to having carnal knowledge of his granddaughter, but claimed that he didn’t know that the victim is pregnant.The victim has been taken to hospital for medical treatment.”
He added that the Commissioner of Police, Edward Awolowo Ajogun had ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for further investigation and prosecution
