A political, socio-cultural body, Ndi-Igbo Buru-Otu Association of Nigeria says it will continue to support Lagos government’s vision for a better state for all
Chief C.C Nwokedi, okpoko 1 of Obodo- ukwu, Imo state, president of the association said this in Lagos during their September monthly meeting at Ijegun, Alimosho temporary Secretariat.
Newsafrican reports that the meeting attracted a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Jude Chukwuemeka Idimogu, representing Oshodi/Isolo Constituency 02 who paid a courtesy visit to the group.
Nwokedi said the association has remained committed to its vision, and therefore, will continue to contribute immensely to the well being of the citizens.
"We have also been working with the police and other law enforcement agencies through logistics support to ensure peace and order in the state’’.
He, however, thanked Hon. Idimogu, for his visit and assured that the association will partner with the leadership of Lagos state to pursue common goals for Ndigbo and Nigerians in general.
He also assured that the soul of the group will never be sold to bad leaders and saboteurs.
While responding, Hon. Idimogu assured the body of his support and urged them to continue to support his party APC government in order to reap the dividends of democracy.
"I will always be available to assist and resolve issues that may confront Igbos in Lagos as they continue to pursue their legitimate business’’.
He said his visit to the group was to follow up on the recent allocation of some plots of land to about nine members of the group and ensure that everything is in order.
" By his grace, the members who benefited from this first phase of the land allocation project will not find anything difficult,’’ he assured.
A beneficially of the land, Mrs Juliet Obioma, lauded the kind gesture of the association for putting smiles to their faces.
"We now have a land where we can start building and call own without stress.
" I will also used the medium to bless and commend the effort of our president who made sure that the lands given to its members are genuine’’.
