The mounting battle between wits in the APC and PDP in Zamfara state today have witnessed a boost for Matawalle’s PDP as a major stakeholder in the state’s political terrain dumps the APC for the ruling Party.
Alhaji Muhammadu Sanda Danjari (Makaman Kwatarkwashi) is by no means a lightweight in the political equation of Zamfara State. A shrewd mobiliser with mass followership, Danjari surprised party APC members, especially the staunch opposition led by former Governor Abdulazeez Yari whom he served as Commissioner of Information as he dumped them for Matawalle.
However, at a grand reception for his absorption into the PDP on Wednesday, (2/9/2020) Danjari said he was simply coming back home because Matawalle has actually been his political leader at all times.
He said that the decision for him to join APC in the first instance, was mooted by Matawalle which he obeyed. “Today, Matawalle has beckoned me back to where he is and I obeyed”, Danjari revealed.
He warned that those who think they can bring down Matawalle must realise that his success in politics is born out of sheer superiority of purpose while his becoming the Governor of Zamfara State is a will of God Almighty.
“We are not ignorant of the Will of the Almighty. Hence we know that man cannot make another man a leader. That is why those who thought they have made others their successors were roundly disgraced politically by God at the last minute”, Danjari observed.
He promised to assist Matawalle in the discharge of his duties as well as support his campaign for another term in office when the time comes.
Receiving the new political heavyweight in the grand rally on behalf of the PDP Chairman in the state, its Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Faruq Gusau (Shettima Rijiya) expressed the gratitude of his Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Mallaha over the new development.
He promised that with the increasing interest shown by APC members to join the PDP in the state, the ruling Party will strengthen its contact and mobilisation Committee to ensure that the entire state is freed of the many years of clutch at the jugular by the the then ruling APC.
