The Governing Council of Waziri Umoru Polytechnic has congratulated the governor on his emergence as the consensus candidate for re-election, describing the development as a strong reflection of his leadership qualities, credibility and commitment to public service.
The council of Waziri Umoru Federal Polytechnic, in a statement issued by its Chairman, Rotimi Makinde, said the governor’s endorsement by political stakeholders and supporters was a clear indication of the confidence reposed in his leadership style and governance approach.
The council noted that Idris, popularly known as “Kauran Gwandu,” had over time demonstrated qualities that continue to attract broad support beyond political affiliations and sectional interests.
According to the statement, his emergence as a consensus candidate represents more than a political development; it reflects what the institution described as a leadership model rooted in responsibility, inclusiveness and service to the people.
The Governing Council said that at a period when leadership is often challenged by division and competing personal interests, the governor had distinguished himself through an approach capable of uniting people across different social and political backgrounds.
It further stated that his leadership had inspired confidence among both political actors and ordinary citizens, earning him trust and recognition within and beyond Kebbi State.
The council expressed confidence that the governor would build upon the achievements recorded during his administration and deepen efforts aimed at advancing development in the state.
“We have no doubt in our minds that you will double your effort in this next chapter to plant your legacies deeper in the hearts of your people and etch them firmly in the history of our nation,” the statement read.
It added that the people of Kebbi State had witnessed his dedication to governance while the wider country had taken note of what it described as an example of responsible leadership.
The institution also expressed optimism that the fresh mandate would strengthen the governor’s resolve to continue implementing policies and programmes that would positively impact the lives of citizens.
The council prayed for wisdom, sound health and divine guidance for Idris as he continues in his leadership journey.
Political observers say endorsements and congratulatory messages from institutions and stakeholders often serve as indicators of confidence in public office holders as preparations gradually intensify toward future electoral contests.
