AUOMMATON Commends Organisers for Successful West Africa Automotive Show 2026

The President of the Amalgamated Union of Motor Mechanics and Technicians of Nigeria (AUOMMATON), Engr. Suleiman Oseni, has commended the organisers of the West Africa Automotive Show (WAAS) 2026 for hosting what he described as a highly successful and impactful automotive exhibition and conference in Lagos.

Speaking after participating in the three-day event held at the Landmark Centre, Lagos, Engr. Oseni said the exhibition lived up to expectations by bringing together major stakeholders, global manufacturers, spare parts dealers, automotive experts, technicians, investors, and industry regulators from across different countries.

According to him, the event provided a rare opportunity for Nigerian technicians and mechanics to witness modern automotive innovations, interact directly with international manufacturers, and gain valuable exposure to emerging trends shaping the global automobile industry.

The AUOMMATON President, who attended the conference alongside members of the union, noted that the quality of participation, exhibitions, networking sessions, and technical engagements clearly demonstrated the growing relevance of Nigeria within the African automotive market.

“The West Africa Automotive Show 2026 was not just an exhibition, but a practical platform for industrial growth, technical advancement, and international collaboration. Our members had the opportunity to engage with global brands, discover modern technologies, and exchange ideas capable of improving the standards of automobile services in Nigeria,” he stated.

Engr. Oseni further applauded the organisers for creating an enabling environment that encouraged learning, business interaction, and professional development among participants within the automotive value chain.

He emphasized that initiatives of such magnitude remain important to the future of Nigeria’s automobile and technical services sector, especially at a time when the country requires greater investment in skills acquisition, local production, innovation, and youth empowerment.

The AUOMMATON President also called on government agencies, private sector investors, and industry stakeholders to sustain support for programmes and exhibitions that promote technical knowledge, entrepreneurship, and industrial development.

He reaffirmed the commitment of AUOMMATON to supporting policies and partnerships that would strengthen the capacity of mechanics, technicians, and artisans across the country.

Engr. Oseni expressed optimism that the success recorded at WAAS 2026 would further position Nigeria as a major hub for automotive business, innovation, and technical excellence in Africa.
